About the studio sitting
Portrait sittings take place in my studio in Solihull, West Midlands. Each session varies in time from a family sitting taking about 1 hour to a baby sitting session taking approx 1 1/2 hours. We try to leave plenty of time between sittings, so we don't have to rush anyone.
Please try to arrive about 10 -15 mins before an appointment sitting begins, to give us plenty of time to prepare.
After the session has finished a suitable appointment is made for you to return to view your photos. It's important that no children attend this appointment. It can be very boring for children at these viewings and it's very difficult for parents to concentrate whilst they are around.
It is my goal for each and every client to be thrilled with the images I create. If for some reason you are not satisfied with the images, please let me know and I will gladly redo the session at no extra charge or refund your session fee in full.
About what to wear
Wearing the right clothes can make all the difference when having your portrait taken. Simple tips help you choose the right clothes for your session.
When taking photos of newborns and babies it's very important that what the parents are wearing doesn't overpower the baby. I prefer to use a black background with parents almost disappearing into the portrait. This is achieved by both parents wearing black clothes and the baby wearing no clothes. This allows the baby to be the main focus of the portrait.
When taking the white background (Venture style photos) it's usually better for the children to be dressed in vibrant colours. You also need to think about co-ordinating clothes so no one clashes. Never put children or adults in clothes with writing or logos on, this can date very quickly.
